Dr Sarah Tonks says...

“What’s fantastic about our process at TLC is that it’s your own collagen you’re stimulating to create the result, so it’s a pleasing halfway house between a natural process and infusing an additional substance.”

What is it and how does it work?

Our version of crafting a perkier posterior involves adding volume and shapeliness by safely placing special biostimulators directly below the skin. A treatment devised to deliver natural-looking uplift, the filler generally resides in the upper part of the buttocks, but can also be used to suggest wider hips or smoothen dimples, divots, or roughly textured skin.

We use an innovative, bio-stimulating injectable body-contouring product called Lanluma® – an advanced version of a tried-and-tested method we’ve been working with for years – which galvanises the body’s own natural collagen response. This means that during the following six weeks, alongside an increase in volume, the texture of the buttock will also improve considerably: it’s the PLLA – poly-L-lactic acid, the active ingredient in Lanluma ® that spurs the collagen stimulation to develop gradually, providing a supremely satisfying sense of ongoing improvement.

Which body parts is it designed for?

The buttocks. However, Lanluma ® can also be used to add shape and textural improvement and reduce loose skin on the arms, legs, and abdomen.

Who is it primarily good for?

Aside from offering a gentler option for those who don’t want to commit to the risk or rigours of full invasive surgery, it’s ideal for people who are concerned about irregularities in the contours of the skin, would like to level up asymmetric buttocks, or are extremely svelte and have struggled to build the requisite weight to create a rounded look naturally.

How long will it last for and what’s the downtime?

The uplift can last for as long as two to three years, but to achieve the perfect bespoke results, the TLC experts recommend doing a minimum of two sessions six weeks apart; many patients opt to revisit, review and reboot at 12-18 months.

The initial swelling usually only lasts for a few days and subsides gradually afterwards.

Please note that all treatment responses and recovery times are dependent on the individual patient.

What other treatments does it work well with?

What else should I know?

Because this procedure is less invasive than its intensive surgical cousin, where a greater volume can be transferred, the results will not be as highly pronounced. However, many patients – particularly those keen on a slightly less conspicuous change of body shape – prefer the still-striking look of this safer, subtler procedure.

FAQS

Here are a few final things that you might like to know before taking things forward. If you have any other questions we haven’t thought of yet, no problem! Please email us at hello@thelovelyclinic.co.uk and one of the team will get back to you as quickly as they possibly can.

Does it hurt?

Patients can expect the same level of discomfort as treatment designed to generate uplift on the face (see Dermal Fillers) which includes some swelling afterwards.

When does it start to work?

It will take approximately six weeks to see the final results. Ideally, patients should commit to two or more sessions for the best results.

WHAT CAN GO WRONG?

While far safer than a surgical bum lift (due to the fact the process doesn’t delve as far into the body, and because of the use of fillers rather than a fat transfer) some patients may experience some bruising, swelling, infection, or nodules (a growth of abnormal tissue) post-procedure.
