Dr. Sarah Tonks, the founder of TLC, is one of Britain’s leading medical aesthetics practitioners – sought-after for her skill, subtlety, and a finger constantly on the pulse of new developments in medicine, beauty and 360° wellbeing.

Overview

After studying medicine, and more than a decade in dentistry where she gained an in-depth understanding of the subtle nuances of facial anatomy – alongside qualifying in practical dermatology and cosmetic science – in 2013 she established TLC. The aim? To create a far more specialised, honest, innovative, and empathetic practice than the run-of-the-mill clinics dominating Medi Aesthetics: “I felt there were too many people behaving like technicians, only treating spot areas. I wanted to do things the right way, to take what we do as doctors to another level.”

Still a hands-on doctor at the clinic she’s also a well-known figure in beauty broadcasting, having launched her YouTube channel in 2016 to decode the principles and possibilities of medical aesthetics: “I’d been aware for some time that lots of people were curious about the kind of work we do at TLC, but also that there was a sense of trepidation, even intimidation attached to it. Having originally discovered these types of treatments as a patient myself I wanted to give back some of that knowledge as a professional, to democratise access to the information and help people to find their own route to self-confidence, both physical and emotional.”

While Dr. Tonks is accomplished in all the treatments performed at TLC, her extensive experience analysing facial structure (initially as a dentist) has helped make her an authority on Thread Lifting, one of the most intricate, visage-harmonising skin treatments. She’s also well-known for offering the latest Sciton™ light and laser technologies including BBL® HEROic™, MOXI™ and HALO® and is highly regarded for her advanced work with biostimulators like JULÄINE™ delivering truly transformative results that build beautifully over time.

Behind the Scenes

Passionate about beauty in every guise, Dr. Tonks is currently exploring the emerging science of evidence-based integrated medicine also an avid fan of tattoos. She’s travelled as far afield as America and Budapest for conferences and expos on extraordinary inkings, as well as to commission her own body art.
