Mr Euan Mackinnon echoes the multi-hyphenate talents of colleagues Dr. Sarah Tonks and Dr. Kishan Raichura in being dually qualified as a dentist and a doctor but he is also TLC’s resident surgeon – acclaimed for bringing the exacting, intricate world of facial surgery to the landscape of elite medical aesthetics.
Over a decade after qualifying as a dentist, and many years performing oral and maxillofacial surgery – a role he continues to maintain as a hospital-based surgeon alongside TLC duties – Mr. Mackinnon is as committed as ever to procedures that refine and enhance the face: “I’ve always been fascinated by facial surgery because I’ve always felt the face to be the true bedrock of identity and therefore the ultimate route to building or creating confidence. Whether it’s related to personal or professional relationships, for me the face is the place where you can really initiate a sense of transformation; it’s the pinnacle of positive change.”
Having been a fan of TLC’s founder Dr. Sarah Tonks from afar for some time, a meeting between the two in 2018 to discuss their mutual interest in the profound ways that cosmetic procedures can improve patients’ wellbeing led to Mr. Mackinnon becoming a core member of the clinic’s superstar team that same year.
Dedicated to advancing facial aesthetics, Mr. Mackinnon is a long-term champion of bringing new and progressive techniques from the theatre into the clinic to achieve the most natural-looking results for every single patient: “I think it’s important to be innovative, to really lean into my surgical expertise to elevate the patient experience. For instance, I’ll often mimic surgical results with non-surgical techniques for everything from very discreet shifts to really quite profound changes – for those who want and will benefit from it.”
Never not leaning into ways to bolster a sense of balance, aside from spending time with friends and family on the south coast, Mr. Mackinnon is also a fan of hot yoga.
