Pioneered by a French physician in the 1950s, Mesotherapy is the technique used to dispense micro-injections directly into the skin – mainlining rejuvenation-rich hits of vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants, hyaluronic and amino acids (among other active ingredients) for a delectable derma-boost.
“Mesotherapy has multiple uses, but it’s particularly brilliant for anyone with dark circles under the eyes or general flaccidity. For those conditions, it will work brilliantly – where creams really won’t do enough.”
Mesotherapy (meaning middle therapy) is an entry-level injectable – a non-surgical technique in which micro-injections of active pharmaceutical or homeopathic preparations are dispensed into the skin, anywhere on the face or body, for a brightening and tightening effect that emanates from within.
Involving the injection of either a single fluid or a cocktail of vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants, amino and/or hyaluronic acids depending on what the skin requires and where, the ‘meso mixture’ is delivered either via a small air pressure gun that releases the substance via a tiny needle on pressing the trigger or via hand-administered needles (which can also include painless no-needle needles!).
Mesotherapy can be used to pep up a tired complexion including banishing dark circles under the eyes, as well as diminishing flaccidity, water retention, sluggish circulation, stretch marks and cellulite. It can also help fluid drainage.
Mesotherapy has a broad range of applications, making it relevant for almost anywhere on the body in need of a boost or back-up. See below for a (non-exhaustive) list of treatments:
For the face: we generally administer hyaluronic and amino acids to amplify the body’s own processes of cellular regeneration, as well as vitamins to create a brighter, more glowing look. We may also use a DMAE (dimethylethanolamine – a fast-acting compound with anti-ageing properties) as a firming solution to improve the appearance or sagging of flaccid skin.
For eyes: we use a product which specifically brightens the eye area, which includes vitamin C, botanical extracts, and the antioxidant glutathione specifically to remedy dark circles.
For the body: we use mesotherapy on the body to support fluid drainage, combat water retention or flaccidity and reduce stretch marks and cellulite on the stomach, thighs, buttocks, hips, legs, and arms.
For the hair: to generate lustrous hair and prevent hair loss, we use mesotherapy to deploy a hyper-nourishing preparation of an antioxidant that can help protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals (unstable molecules that can cause damage to other cells). Preparations can include glutathione (an antioxidant), as well as vitamin B and amino acids.
Mesotherapy’s broad range of uses makes it applicable to anyone, with particularly noticeable benefits for those seeking to banish dark circles and/or fine lines under their eyes.
Downtime is negligible for most mesotherapy treatments, although in some cases patients may experience some short-lived bruising and swelling, which usually settles within 24 hours. A course of treatment is recommended for the absolute best results.
Please note that all treatment responses and recovery times are dependent on the individual patient.
Mesotherapy can be used with any other treatment and may be combined to enhance the impact of other therapies such as Dermal Fillers, Advanced Muscle-Relaxing Injectables and Injectable Moisturisers.
It can also be used as part of hair treatment TrichoTest® where custom-created micro-injections of vitamins or natural anti-androgens are dispensed directly into the scalp to remedy hair loss.
For another similarly versatile, long-standing, and all-natural treatment conceived to boost overall health in a variety of ways, see Carboxytherapy.
Regular use is suggested to retain the initial results of Mesotherapy.

Mesotherapy is generally a painless process, but for those versions of the treatment involving multiple skin punctures, we may employ a topical anaesthetic to alleviate any discomfort.
It will generally take a few weeks to see the final effect following the completion of a course of treatment, but some results will be immediately visible, followed by continuous incremental improvements.
Atypical issues associated with Mesotherapy include minor pain, redness, swelling and bruising.
