Getting started with TLC
From our first chat all the way through to your post-treatment care.
We understand that taking the first few steps can often seem rather overwhelming when having an aesthetic treatment, or when navigating the wealth of information you’ll need to be aware of once you’re on board, and then with getting a grip on the order of play as regards what you need to do next and by when, at every stage in the process (before, during and after).
So, whether you’re completely new to TLC and unsure of how to get started, or are a returning patient curious about exploring new treatment possibilities with us, or just want to get a better sense of what’s involved in a standard treatment pathway from beginning to end, here’s an overview of the ways in which we’ll guide you through the journey, and some of the key things to expect during each of the three key stages:
The TLC exploratory call
New patients (excluding those booking one of our zero-prep Therapist Services treatments) will have a detailed exploratory appointment with our expert call coordinator, either via a telephone call, as a virtual session or in person (depending on your preference), where we’ll discuss your concerns, aspirations, benchmarks and aesthetic preferences.
As both a trained aesthetics therapist and skilled clinical assistant, our call coordinator will be able to answer any questions you have in detail, and recommend whether you need to have a follow-up consultation or not with a TLC therapist or doctor.
Please note that all patients are welcome to have a call with our treatment coordinator, should they want to do so, regardless of the level of treatment or history that a patient has with us. Many people find that a regular check-in to discuss topics such as their progress to date, or the new products, devices and treatments we offer, is both a comforting and informative experience.
Welcome to the clinic
On the day of your treatment, you’ll need to check in at our reception approximately 10 minutes before your appointment begins, or 30-60 minutes prior should you need a topical anaesthetic cream applied, after which you can relax in our lounge area until we are ready for you. Here, all consent forms will be rechecked, remaining forms completed and outstanding photos taken. Please note that we’re more than happy to support you with filling in any final details, should you be having any problems or uncertainties in doing so.
Because we’ll recalibrate our treatment approach to ensure it’s as perfectly suited to you as possible on the day, if the original consultation was provided online, we’ll take another set of photos immediately prior to treatment.
At this point, we’ll ask you to remove all makeup and thoroughly cleanse your skin before your treatment session (ideally, please come to the clinic without wearing any cosmetics if possible – the more makeup-free you are, the more effective the treatment will be).
Excelling after treatment
Immediately after your session, we’ll provide you with post-treatment makeup or skincare (such as non-comedogenic moisturiser, containing ingredients that won’t clog or block your pores), depending on what best suits your needs.
Advice on how to self-care for your skin following your treatment will be provided both verbally after the session and in a follow-up summary email, so you’ll always have a comprehensive overview to refer back to. However, you are always more than welcome to call us for a recap should any of your post-treatment symptoms be concerning you, or if you just feel you need a bit of additional advice or have any questions or concerns down the line.
If you’ve booked a treatment or package of treatments involving repeat sessions, we’ll usually advise that you book your next appointment prior to leaving clinic to make sure we keep your journey fully on-track to achieve the most optimal results. Similarly, we’ll also provide you with a set of personalised skincare suggestions to ensure your treatments work as hard as possible for as long as possible.

Before You Book
For new patients making their first booking, your card will be charged £150 with the nurse, £295 for a doctor and £695 for the dermatologist. Following a consultation appointment, if you choose to undergo treatment within three months of the original consultation, the consultation fee is redeemable against the cost of treatment and will be held on your patient account. For more information about our specific treatment charges, please see our pricing guide or get in touch.
Please note; Your consultation fee is fully redeemable against treatment undertaken within 3 months of the consultation.
For our existing patients, your card details will be captured at the point of booking and are held on your patient file, but no charges will be applied except in the event of a late cancellation or no-show. Your card details will be securely stored on our payment system for your convenience. This information can be removed at any time on request. Certain services, such as Sculptra®, Lanluma® and Desirial®, will require payment in full prior to booking. Payment rendered is for the services performed only and no guarantee is given regarding any specific outcomes.
The Lovely Clinic’s Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy applies to all appointments which are cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice. All such cancellations or rescheduling will incur a cancellation fee of £150. This charge will be levied against the card details taken at the time of booking, and no further appointments will be arranged until the cancellation charge has been settled. For appointments lasting 60 minutes or longer, we require a minimum of 96 hours’ notice, and the charge is £300. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we reserve the right to cancel the appointment and charge the late-cancellation fee of £150 to avoid unfair impact on our other patients.
Packages, once commenced and the first service is taken, are strictly non-refundable. If a package is cancelled prior to commencement, the cancellation must be received within 48 hours of the first appointment, otherwise a cancellation fee of £150 will be incurred.
New patients are seen for consultation and assessment. In order to comply with General Medical Council guidelines, in exceptional circumstances, certain treatments may be carried out on the day of consultation at the agreement of the patient and clinician. More invasive treatments must be scheduled for an appointment at a later date. There is an option for an online consultation should you be travelling a long distance. Treatment is granted at the discretion of the clinician. No guarantee is given that treatment will be provided for a service booked online, as it may be unsuitable.
Review appointments for muscle-relaxing injectables must be taken within four weeks of the original appointment. Any other timescale must be agreed with the clinic by prior arrangement.
