A scalp facial is perfect for anyone suffering from the signs of hair loss or thinning (including pregnancy or menopause-related) who regularly colour their hair, use hair extensions or are preparing for hair restoration surgery.
A standard Scalp Facial comprises of the multi-faceted AquaB ‘hydrofacial’, the supreme cleansing (and then some) mode of the five-pronged Préime DermaFacial toolkit that cleanses and exfoliates, removing dry patches, sebum and the build-up of natural oils from styling products before refreshing the skin with an infusion of nourishing active ingredients.
To turbocharge the benefits of your treatment, there are four additional options to choose from.
While scalp peels are generally used to prepare the scalp for other procedures such as microneedling or mesotherapy (to rid the scalp of any dermal debris, contaminants or excess product that can make hair look dull and lifeless), they can also be performed as a standalone treatment. We’ll generally use a bio-revitalising product such as Bioderma, which helps to protect skin tissue while enhancing the effectiveness of growth and repair at a cellular level, adding supreme shine and bounce.
Fast, ultra-precise and only minimally invasive, the FDA-approved SkinPen® Precision (the jewel in the crown of contemporary modern microneedling) creates tiny perforations in the surface of the skin to stimulate the body’s own healing processes – including the scalp. We’ll typically needle a hair-specific solution into the micropuncture points to turbocharge hair health, or you can upgrade with CALECIM® Professional – a brand whose proprietary technology PTT-6® is a mix of growth factors (a naturally occurring substance capable of stimulating cell proliferation and wound healing).
Here, we apply hair-boosting mesotherapy solutions, such as biotin and niacinamide (aka vitamin B3), both of which stimulate keratin, the main constituent of hair fibre, and peptides, which circulate blood to the hair follicles, giving them the nutrients and oxygen they need to grow hair healthily. The preparations are injected into the skin using handheld nano-needles.
To raise the Scalp Facial to another level, we can apply the turbocharging influence of exosomes (the tiny growth-factor-containing sacks generated by animal or plant cells, capable of supercharging skin regeneration and hair growth), infusing them into the scalp via microneedling to ensure they penetrate as deeply as possible. For the microneedling, we use the hyper-targeting excellence of the handheld FDA-approved SkinPen® Precision device, using exosomes sourced from renowned Korean manufacturer ExCoBio.
For patients specifically concerned about hair loss, we also offer mesotherapy-style injections of dutasteride, a medication that blocks the formation of DHT dihydrotestosterone in the scalp and hair follicles (DHT is the primary trigger for hair follicle miniaturisation in hereditary hair loss, aka androgenetic alopecia). Only available with Dr Kishan Raichura.
