“This is a great, highly innovative and effective catch-all treatment, as relevant for people wanting to simply freshen up their skin as those looking to redress full acne scarring or stretch marks.”

Which body parts is it designed for?

INTRAcel can be used anywhere on the body but is renowned for high rates of success in countering scarring and stretch marks; for the latter enabling reductions of as much as 30% in both length and width.

It’s also especially good for treating the often-tricky neck area.

Who it is primarily good for?

A superb treatment for all ages and types of skin texture concern, INTRAcel is beneficial to anyone over the age of 18 but provides particularly pleasing results for those struggling with crepy dull or irregular skin textures, or active acne.

How long will it last for and what’s the downtime?

INTRAcel generally lasts for approximately 12-18 months.

Both preparation and downtime are minimal; patients are required to smooth on a topical anaesthetic cream on for an hour prior to the treatment and should expect to experience redness comparable to sunburn for approximately one day following it (this normally subsides completely within 12-24 hours).

Please note that all treatment responses and recovery times are dependent on the individual patient.

What other treatments it works well with?

INTRAcel can work well in conjunction with partner treatment, ULTRAcel which is focused on deep tissue skin tightening.

What else should I know?

For those using it to treat ageing-based concerns the TLC team recommend one treatment per month for 3 months; for those focussed on supporting the reduction of scarring we would suggest a slightly more intensive programme of one treatment per month for 5 months. Following this initial series, patients are advised to return every 6 months to maintain the effects.

No, patients having Dermal Fillers feel very little discomfort thanks to our use of extra fine needles, topical and/or sometimes local anaesthetic. The way the skin tissue is handled has a bearing on how painful a procedure is and the extent of any swelling, all of which our highly experienced team is well-versed in.

You’ll have a good idea how the finished treatment will look immediately after the procedure, but for best results wait for three to four weeks.

Adverse effects include a residual bulge or swelling that lasts longer than anticipated, asymmetry, allergic reaction, infection as well blood vessel and retinal artery occlusions (blockages in the arteries or veins).

Yes. Hyaluronic acid is produced by a bacterium and is non-animal based.

If hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers need to be removed for any reason it is possible to do this with an enzyme hyaluronidase, which swiftly breaks down the initial compound. For more on this also look to the Corrective Procedures section in the treatments list.

Yes. Modern techniques for non-surgical work, which include an expert analysis of where an individual has lost volume of bone or fat through the ageing process have led to the use of dermal fillers to support the creation of a beautifully balanced natural look. At TLC, in part thanks to our expertise in facial anatomy, we’re especially proficient at working with light and shadow to harmonise the features.
