ULTRAcel Q+ , the innovative companion treatment to skin retexturing marvel INTRAcel, mobilises the power of high-intensity ultrasound (HIFU) to deliver deep tightening, brightening and lifting.
“I love the contouring aspect of ULTRAcel Q+, it’s amazingly good for allowing us to take full control, as well as the distinct lack of downtime for patients.”
The success of ULTRAcel Q+, the advanced version of the original ULTRAcel 2 treatment lies in its deployment of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) – a controllable form of acoustic energy – to reach three very specific target areas. These are: the dermis – just below the surface of the skin; the superficial musculoaponeurotic system aka SMAS, which sits just below that; and the subcutaneous fat – the ‘jiggly’ fat visible just below the skin. The result of this exceptionally deep work is a combination of intense tissue contraction that generates tighter and more luminous skin.
Alongside the key focus on tightening, the capacity to work with multiple layers of the skin also allows (in some instances) TLC’s skilled practitioners to not only control but also destroy areas of fat, such as that residing underneath the neck or chin. This can include creating a slimmer-looking, V-shaped facial profile. Also in new protocols from Korea it is actually possible to re-grow certain areas of fat using the ULTRAcel Q+.
ULTRAcel Q+ is designed to be used all over the face and body to combat weary, sagging skin. It is especially favoured for the face, neck, and jowls and for overall body contouring.
ULTRAcel Q+ is suitable for all adults, but is ideal for patients aged 30 to 60, due to its prowess in treating and also pre-empting ageing, from deep wrinkles to sagging skin.
For the face, we usually advise that the treatment should be undertaken three times a year (at three-month intervals) for the first year, with a further two to three sessions every subsequent year. Body contouring can be performed every two weeks for a minimum of six sessions.
ULTRAcel Q+ generally doesn’t require any downtime.
Please note that all treatment responses and recovery times are dependent on the individual patient. The success of ULTRAcel Q+ is very much dependent on the original quality of skin and the degree of any existing damage.
ULTRAcel Q+ can work excellently in conjunction with partner treatment, INTRAcel, which concentrates on resurfacing skin texture, as well as the light and laser treatments within our Sciton Joule® Light & Laser Technologies category.
See also BBL® HEROic™, another revolutionary laser therapy that can similarly improve overall skin tone and texture as well as pigmentation issues, spurring a more radiant complexion.
The TLC experts recommend a series of treatments to see the best results, typically three times a year, with at least three-month intervals in between. The effects of the treatment will continue to reveal themselves gradually, showing improvement over a period of approximately three months.

Formerly a rather painful treatment that may have required topical anaesthesia, ULTRAcel Q+ has evolved to deliver an intense yet minimally painful internal tissue contraction that’s more like ‘being zipped up from the inside’.
There’s an immediate lifting effect and an improvement in skin texture, with full results visible in three months.
There is very little risk with ULTRAcel Q+. Patients may experience some swelling, transient numbness, and muscle weakness. There is also a theoretical risk of post-inflammatory skin discolouration.
