Dr Sarah Tonks says...

“We marry serious surgical experience with all the know-how of advanced aesthetics expertise, so not only can we support you in safely removing your lumps or bumps but we can also provide superb follow-up care so the experience becomes an opportunity to supercharge your skin health.”

What is it and how does it work?

Lumps and bumps can appear on the skin for many reasons- ranging from benign growths like warts and skin tags to lipomas (soft fatty lumps) and moles. While typically harmless, these irregularities can disrupt skin texture and appearance.

At TLC, we treat them using a combination of surgical precision and aesthetic finesse:

  • Moles are fully excised and may require stitches
  • Skin tags and lipomas are removed using a precise shaving technique with a flexible scalpel or cauterisation (heat-based removal).
  • Warts are treated with cryotherapy (freezing), often using the award-winning TargetCool, and/or cauterisation

As a standard precaution, all removed moles – and skin tags if necessary – are sent for histology testing to rule out any underlying conditions.

Which body parts is it designed for?

These minor surgical procedures can be performed anywhere on the body—including the face—helping to refine skin tone and texture wherever needed.

Who is it primarily good for?

This treatment is suitable for adults of any age who want to improve the clarity, smoothness, and uniformity of their skin by removing unwanted bumps or irregularities.

How long will it last for and what’s the downtime?

Most procedures take under an hour. If stitches are required (typically for larger moles), they are removed within seven days. Post-removal, we recommend a high-grade silicone-based scar ointment to optimise healing and minimise scarring.

What other treatments does it work well with?

What else should I know?

While most lumps and bumps are benign, we may recommend consulting your dermatologist first if there is any suspicion about the lesion. If we have any concerns about the nature of the growth or its location, we’ll refer you to a trusted specialist.
