Sculptra vs JULÄINE™ – The Collagen Revival Showdown at The Lovely Clinic

Sculptra vs JULÄINE™ – The Collagen Revival Showdown at The Lovely Clinic

JULAINE vs SCULPTRA

In the fast-moving landscape of aesthetic medicine, Sculptra and JULÄINE™ have emerged as two standout treatments for long-lasting facial rejuvenation. Both are collagen-boosting injectables made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), designed to gradually restore volume, improve skin quality, and soften the signs of ageing.

But while they may share the same core ingredient, these two biostimulants perform very differently, and understanding how they perform could help you choose the right treatment for your needs.

Sculpta-vs-Julane - a comparison

At The Lovely Clinic, based in the heart of Chelsea, we pride ourselves on offering evidence-led, results-driven aesthetic treatments for patients who want to age well, not hide from it.

Let’s explore the key differences and what makes JULÄINE™ an exciting advancement in collagen regeneration.

What Are the Key Differences Between Sculptra and JULÄINE™?

While both Sculptra and JULÄINE™ are injectable forms of PLLA, the formulation and technology behind JULÄINE™ represent a significant leap forward.

JULÄINE™ features smaller, more uniform spherical particles than Sculptra. Thanks to a proprietary freeze-drying process, these particles mix more evenly and don’t aggregate like Sculptra can. This improved consistency translates to easier injection, reduced inflammation, and an improved safety profile.

JULÄINE™ does not require post-treatment massage, unlike Sculptra’s strict “5-5-5” protocol (5 minutes, 5 times per day, for 5 days). Fewer post-care requirements mean a lower risk of complications and a more convenient experience for patients.

Do Sculptra and JULÄINE™ Deliver the Same Results?

Both treatments work gradually by stimulating collagen production, but JULÄINE™ tends to achieve more pronounced results with fewer sessions.

Thanks to the more advanced particle formulation, JULÄINE™ creates a more even and refined result, including a lifting effect on the facial ligaments due to improved cell-to-cell signalling. This effect is not possible with hyaluronic acid fillers and is only seen to a lesser extent with Sculptra.

While Sculptra typically requires three sessions and regular top-ups, many patients report noticeable improvement sooner with JULÄINE™ and require fewer vials over time to achieve the same, if not better, results.

Treatment Protocol: What Should You Expect?

At The Lovely Clinic, we recommend a course of three treatment sessions spaced four weeks apart, followed by a maintenance session every 3–6 months.

On average:

  • 1 vial is used per face per session

  • Add an additional vial per session if treating the neck.

  • For significant volume loss, 2 vials per session for the face may be recommended.

Results begin to appear around the 2-week mark post-treatment and continue to improve as your body’s collagen response develops.

Why Is JULÄINE™ Considered Safer Than Other Injectables?

JULÄINE™ has no reported cases of vascular occlusion to date, a critical advantage over both Sculptra and hyaluronic acid fillers.

Additionally, the smaller, more uniform particles reduce the risk of nodule formation, one of the more common complications associated with other collagen stimulators. There’s a lower risk of delayed nodules due to missed massage (unlike with Sculptra), and no oedematous or “puffy” appearance during breakdown, which can occasionally occur with hyaluronic acid-based treatments.

JULÄINE™ doesn’t attract water in the same way as HA fillers, so the results remain refined, lifted, and natural-looking throughout the breakdown process.

Does JULÄINE™ Have a Gel Carrier?

No,  JULÄINE™ does not contain a gel carrier. This is a common misconception, likely confused with other injectables like Ellansé. JULÄINE™ is a pure PLLA biostimulant, carefully engineered for controlled, safe collagen stimulation.

Final Thoughts: Should You Choose Sculptra or JULÄINE™?

Both treatments are effective. But if you’re looking for:

  • Fewer sessions

  • A lower risk of complications

  • No need for post-care massage

  • More uniform and predictable outcomes

  • Visible tightening and support of facial structures

… then JULÄINE™ may offer superior value, both in terms of results and investment.

At The Lovely Clinic, we work with the most advanced products available to deliver safe, evidence-based results for patients who want to age on their terms.
